St - Hit the snare drum ring or the ring of any tom with your sticks,
I'd suggest you to hit the ring with the same part you would hit
the ring with the stick when you do a rimshot, that's usually the
last fifth of the stick.
off/on - means to flip the snares on/off (thanks to frodawg)
? - not sure if there's a hit, maybe, I thought so first, but not anymore
Notes:
Intro
I'm unsure about the 32nd notes, listen to the song to play it from your own
feeling, if it is wrong.
I suppose that the one 32nd note before that flam is not intended by Josh, but
maybe it is, I just wrote it down anyways.
The last 3 hits are electronically manipulated, but I noted them down anyways.
Intro 2, Verse 1 etc.
The first note of some measures is emphasized with a ridebell or crash hit
while doing the 32nd notes. My advice would be to play the four 32nd notes rrll.
I just found it as difficult to do it with St, because the sticks won't bounce
off of the ring that well.
Chorus1 & 2
I'm unsure about the Fill Ins with the Toms(32nds and sextuplets), I just tried
the best I could do.
I noted two snare drum hits in the fill as emphasized, but in fact every snare
hit (in the fill ins at least) is emphasized.
Outro
The flams overlay with the Ride Bell sometimes, just don't do them and hit the
snare with one hand or don't do the bell, maybe there's another person who did
it in the recordings of this song.
